Sydney trip hits right note

12 Nov, 2008 11:37 AM
Last week, two students from Trangie Central School travelled to the ‘big smoke’ of Sydney as part of the Moorambilla Children’s choir.

The students were Jo Copeland (Year 6) and Karla Terry (Year 5).

They were chosen to compete in the choir that was to perform at the Sydney Opera House.

The students left Trangie on Monday November 3 on a large bus filled with lots of excited children from various parts of western NSW.

Over the next few days, they had a busy schedule of rehearsals and appearances including a brief time on the Sunrise program with Mel and Kochie.

On Wednesday November 5, a large crowd gathered at the Sydney Opera House for the presentation of the Peace Prize, which this year went to Patrick Dodson.

At the conclusion of a speech, the Moorambilla Choir sang beautifully and did western NSW proud.

After the concert, the children had the chance to mingle with many well known celebrities and soak up the atmosphere of being superstars.

This is one trip that Jo and Karla will not forget in a hurry.
