Bank is offering assurances on home loan rates

05 Feb, 2010 10:56 AM
NAB continues to offer consumers a great deal by having the lowest standard variable home loan rate of 6.49 per cent out of the major banks.

Prior to the Reserve Bank of Australia Board Meeting earlier this month, NAB reassured customers that it would not increase home loan interest rates by more than the official cash rate in February. NAB was the only major bank not to go above the official cash rate in December.

Dawn Colley, NAB branch manager in Narromine, said it’s important for NAB Narromine to be open and transparent with its valued customers.

“We want to make sure our customers know where they stand with NAB and at the moment that means receiving the most competitive standard variable rate in the market among the four majors.

“We have offered local Narromine residents the best standard variable home loan rate since June 2009 and we will continue to show all Australians that NAB is working hard to deliver fairer value banking,” she said.

NAB is leading the change in the way banking is experienced by Australians.

State General Manager Tim Bostock said NAB continued to look at how it could provide a fairer banking experience for its customers.

“While other banks are slowly following our lead we were the first to announce the abolition of many unpopular fees on personal and business transaction accounts and credit cards and unlike other banks there are no disclaimers or hidden rules with our changes.

“We’ve also doubled our ATM network by partnering with rediATMs to provide more convenient banking for NAB and rediATM customers across Australia.

“We are determined to be competitive, to offer customers a better deal and attract new customers - NAB is about more give, less take,” Tim said.

Ms Colley said we’re proud to be the bank offering customers more give and less take, and invite all existing NAB and customers of other banks to come and talk to us to see about how we can help them achieve their financial goals.
