Agrigrain, together with local growers, has donated $11,000 to the Macquarie Matrons.
Sam Ward from Agrigrain said the company saw the Macquarie Matrons as an important part of the community and was very happy to be able to be involved in assisting the group to raise money for both Angel Flight Australia and the Macquarie Regional Support Fund.
Agrigrain also thanked the growers for their generosity in donating grain in what has been a tough couple of seasons for the region. The money raised was a combination of grain donated at harvest by growers and a donation from Agrigrain. Grain donations from growers into Agrigrain came from all across the Macquarie region and out to Bourke, Walgett, Nyngan and Condobolin with amounts ranging from a couple of hundred kilos up to two tonne. It’s not too late to be involved. The Macquarie Matrons have set up their own National Grower Registration number so grain donations can be received at any time, at any grain receival point. Amounts as small as 50kg and upwards can be donated and the Matrons will be looking to continue this over the next harvest period.
For now the Macquarie Matrons are busy gearing up for their biennial gala ball to be held in just four weeks. Don’t miss out on your chance to attend the biggest social event in the region on September 19 at the Namoi Cotton Gin, Trangie. Visit www.macquariematrons.com.au for more information.
