25 CLUB: This year we promised you that we would be trying some new fundraising events and by gosh wasn’t the first one we had a great success.
Remember we will still be holding our usual events with the Christmas Raffle starting very soon. So keep looking in the local papers for all our upcoming events won’t you.
The 25 Club held a very successful “Wine Tasting Night” on October 16.
The night was attended by about 110 people.
The night started off with cheese and biscuits followed by a two-course dinner and very generous tasting of appropriate wine served for each course. The wine was supplied by Debortoli Wines and there certainly was no shortage of tastings. Water, squash and lemonade were supplied if you were not a wine drinker.
Local business houses donate a great range of items to be auctioned on the night and the guests did not let us down in their generous bidding on the night. The evening was a great success both socially and financially for our fundraising project this year being Timbrebongie House. We want to raise enough money to be able to replace the 20-year-old day lounge chairs and Friday night made that target much closer.
The 25 Club would like to thank the following people for their generous support once again towards the 25 Club.
USMC staff, Debortoli Wines, Bob Walsh, Michael Burke, Keens Furniture Shop, Dick and Ruth Carney and to everybody who donated goods for the auction. Last but not least to the wonderful people who attended and supported our function, we thank all of you most sincerely.
This will probably be our last newsletter for 2009 so everyone have a very safe and enjoyable festive season.
Remember that if you laugh the entire world will wonder what you’ve been up too.
So just enjoy life, laugh and the world will be a happier place.
Festive greetings to each and every one of you,
From All The Girls at The 25 Club
