Newell Highway closed for three weeks at Peak Hill

01 Feb, 2012 02:00 PM
Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) has closed the Newell Highway through the centre of Peak Hill for three weeks for major resurfacing work, from 7am.

Northbound highway traffic will be detoured via Bogan, Deribong and Ween streets.

Southbound highway traffic will be detoured via Ween, Euchie and Bogan streets. A reduced speed limit of 40km/h will be in place.

Work will be carried out from 6am to 7pm seven days a week and may be extended to 5am to 10pm for two or three days.

Vehicles will not be able to enter the highway from Dugga and Mingelo streets for the duration of the work.

RMS thanks motorists for their patience during this work. Motorists should obey all signs at the site, including reduced speed limit signs.

Be roadwork aware, slow down and take care - roadwork speed limits are enforceable.

For more information about traffic conditions, motorists should contact the Transport Management Centre on 132 701 or visit www.livetraffic.com
