Local junior Kori Mounsey recently found success at the ISKA Classic Martial Arts Championships in Sydney.

Kori was rewarded on several occasions taking major placings in his events.

Kori trains with Te-Ashi Kai-Shin Karate Club every Wednesday evening at the Narromine USMC. He was part of a team of 11 students who travelled to Sydney for the event.

The entire team either won or placed in their divisions of competition.

Instructor Michael Ireland said martial arts is increasing in popularity offering young people many opportunities to improve on self-confidence, focus, and hand-eye co-ordination.

He said it was also statistically proven to help education, through more advanced levels of concentration.

Instructor Michael Ireland offers classes for all ages and abilities, for further enquiries contact the club on 6882 0430.
