Big month planned
03 Sep 10 | There were 20 bowlers who attended social bowls, playing two games of triples and one game of fours. Congratulations to the voucher winners R Woods, B Carter and B Newbold.
01 Sep 10 | We have had a very busy week up at the “Bowly” and beyond as our men and lady bowlers were heavily involved in championship matches in the shape of mixed pairs and consistency singles, a couple of social bowls forays and when you throw in a zone representative fixture at the weekend which involved four Narromine players as well, it could be said that the lull is definitely over.
27 Aug 10 | Fifteen bowlers attended social bowls with two games of triples and one game of pairs played - it was lovely to have P Allen back on deck.
25 Aug 10 | We certainly have got a bit happening this coming weekend with the start of a couple of championship events namely the mixed handicap pairs and also the consistency singles.
18 Aug 10 | Well it wasn’t that big a week, but we did have a final, some karaoke that kept the clubhouse rocking and a game of social bowls on Sunday morning, so while it was a case of its not all happening, we certainly weren’t that quiet either.
11 Aug 10 | Just a couple of pleasant days of social bowls to report on this week as it was a bit like the lull before a storm up at the “Bowly”- you knew it was about to hit but it didn’t arrive this week.
06 Aug 10 | Our president, Mavis Leek, thanked Jenny Lincoln for all her hard work over the past 12 months as treasurer. Eighteen bowlers attended with two semi-final games of A Grade Pairs Championship played and a social game of pairs and triples played.
Dubbo City team wins bowls carnival
04 Aug 10 | Trangie Women’s Bowling Club held its annual two-day carnival on July 21-22 in what was beautiful weather.
23 Jul 10 | Our president, Mavis Leak thanked past president Brenda Carter for all her work over the past three years.
23 Jul 10 | Championships last weekend saw the “A” Grade Triples jump out of the gates with one first-round match contested and three second-round games played and the results, as expected, were not according to Hoyle in every case.
Year 12 student takes out junior bowls championship
21 Jul 10 | Newly crowned State Junior Pairs Champion, Michael McIntyre, has set selectors with the task of where to play him in their side for the National Teams championships to be played later this year.
21 Jul 10 | Well another huge week of action to report from the bowling club this week. Pride of place on the plethora of activities was of course our annual President’s Day, which almost went according to the script, with a special thank you to the two Geoffs and the Judge who filled in at short notice, and by day’s end speaking to our Skipper Roger Koerstz, he was well pleased with the manner in which the day went.
16 Jul 10 | Our AGM was held on Monday with Mavis Leak president, Rosalie Woods secretary and Kerry Wood treasurer. Our patrons are Waveney Dawes and Edna Cross. Outgoing president of three years, Brenda Carter thanked the committee members for their support with a special thank you to Marge Cosgrove for her long service as social officer.
16 Jul 10 | Our annual President’s Day takes pride of place this coming Sunday and for those members who haven’t nominated as yet you have a problem.
14 Jul 10 | Congratulations to Bruce Maher, Luke Hutchison, Peter Cross and John Edwards who are our 2010 Club Fours champions after their decisive 28/14 win over Don Gibson, Harry Gammon, Danny Carnevale and David McNair in the final played last Saturday afternoon on a very good free running number two green.
Nancy will be sadly missed
09 Jul 10 | Sympathy is extended to the family of Nancy Dallman who has been a long-standing, very active member of the club since joining on June 1 1973. Nancy was president in 1992 and 2001, secretary in 1990 and treasurer in 1985. Nancy will be sadly missed.
07 Jul 10 | The semi-finals of the club fours were played in blustery conditions last Saturday with wins to David McNair and team, along with the John Edwards’ quartet. These two sides will line up again on Saturday in the final - should be an interesting clash.
02 Jul 10 | Sixteen bowlers attended with four teams of triples competing in the semi-finals. J Buswell, D Barry and J Coote played R Bullock, P Allen and J Bateman.
30 Jun 10 | Another final, another new champion, and congratulations to Phil Harding, who defeated Bruce Maher in the final of the “B” Grade singles final last Saturday afternoon, in an excellent display of draw bowling.
25 Jun 10 | FWDBA AND ZONE FOUR BOWLS: A very big weekend of bowls at West Dubbo last weekend saw the finalisation of our representatives in the Grades 5,6 and 7 Pennant competitions for 2010.
