Ladies social bowls got back into the swing again on Tuesday after some weeks’ recess. Practice for our pennant teams is dominant at present with the first match to be February 27. There were two games of fours; emphasis was on playing 21 ends as we have been rather lax in that area. The selectors are trying to decide how the teams will be played but have a week or two yet to decide on the final teams.
It is good to see Carol Carnivale playing with us and president Mavis extends her a warm welcome on behalf of us all.
Voucher winners were Rosalie Woods, Nola Schroder, Betty Purvis and Helen Woolfe. Congratulations girls. The raffle was won by Bev Bulley.
Committee members please note that there is a committee meeting on Tuesday February 7 following lunch so please make an effort to be present. This is the beginning of a new season so I am sure there will be a few decisions to be made.
The Friday night competition is still running and it would be good to see as many ladies as possible roll up, especially the pennant team candidates as it is extremely good practice. Also Sunday morning mixed bowls is a good chance for another run.
We wish Janet Coote a happy birthday for January 31 and hope to see her on the green again soon. Also birthday wishes to Jean Richardson for January 9.
See you on the green next Tuesday with names in by 9am and start of play at 9.30am with a packed lunch and ready for the committee meeting.
