Clark wins sixth in a row

03 Jul, 2009 05:02 PM
On June 11 Sonny Clark, John Brown and Ron Stanley took home the chooks in the Thursday Chicken Run. It was Sonny’s sixth chicken in a row, well done.

On June 18 Brett Young, Sonny Phillips and Robert McIntosh were the winners and this week Rusty Gale, John Heterick and the irrepressible Sonny Phillips combined to win the event. The jackpot was not won and will stand at $374 next week. Don’t forget names are to be in by 3pm for a 3.30 start.

On June 14 John Brown, Ron Stanley and Dave (Kooka’s mate) split the money in the dash for cash. On June 21 Sonny Phillips, Sandy Carpenter and Peter Dalton split the cash. Cecil Watson, Luke Coffee and Nancy Phillips took home Sunday’s cash.

Championships:

A-grade pairs: Brian Meredith and Steve the Chemist were too strong for Andrew Swift and Alan Carter with a 26-12 win. Doug Ferrari and Brett Young had a good win over Bobby Cooper and Rusty Gale.

A-grade singles: Doug Ferrari led Donny Dennis 30 to 21 but could not finish it off with Donny finally winning 33-30.

In another close rink Brian Meredith held out Sonny Clark 31-30. In Brian’s next match he was just too good for Robert McIntosh 31-36. Peter Dalton is still smiling after beating Brett Young 32-11. Greg Moss scored the biggest upset of the championships when he defeated his more fancied rival Frank Ferrari 32-27. John Heterick continued his good form defeating John Brown 31-22.

Brian Meredith is in the semi-final and will play the winner of Pewter Dalton and John Heterick and in the other half of the draw the winner of the Bobby Cooper and Greg Moss match will play the winner of the Donny Dennis and Rusty Gale game in the other semi-final. Congratulations to all of those winners.
