Bush kids enjoy ‘real’ grand final

07 Oct, 2009 02:35 PM
While the NRL is finished for the year the season will be forever memorable for Narromine’s ‘Bush Kids’ who made the trip down to Sydney to see what many Parramatta fans are saying was the ‘real’ grand final - the classic clash between the Eels and the Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs on September 25.

The children got to play a game before the semi-final started and also made up part of the guard of honour for the players as they ran onto ANZ stadium.

The fun didn’t stop there as the group met lifeguards from the hit television series Bondi Rescue and bumped into Dubbo’s Charlie Bartley from So You Think You Can Dance.

Parent Norm Peters said the group overall had a wonderful weekend.

“We would like to take this opportunity to thank the community of Narromine and Trangie for their help and support to help make the trip possible,” she said.

“A special thanks to John Mill for his contacts in the NRL and Bruce Peters for a wonderful year of footy and a very memorable weekend away.”
