Today’s event is the first round of the foursomes championships which will be played in groups of four starting at 9.30am on the first and 10th tees. Best of luck to all those ladies participating.
As most people would know last Wednesday was a washout, being the third round of the WGNSW medal, so this will be played at a future date to be decided.
Last Saturday saw 12 players slog their way around a very heavy course in a par round with Valerie Edmunds’ Trophy.
The very astute winner of this event was Wendy Jeffery coming in with an all square score and scooped the pool winning both nearest pins on the ninth and 17th.
First optional ball winner was Gail White and the second optional ball winner was Nancy Elrington who, with a devious smile, won a ball on a count back from her sister-in-law Carole King both -2. The raffle was kindly donated by Valerie Edmunds and was also won by Nancy Elrington. Drawn card was won by Betty Browning.
Tracy McIntyre is still giving her time to run the clinic on Sunday mornings at 9.30am for all those new or returning players to brush up on their golf. Don’t forget this Sunday the golf clinic, run by professional golfer Sharon Nott, is on for all players to learn more expert tips. Thought for the week: Accept that some days you’re the pigeon and some days you’re the statue.
