A staggering 288 people attended the Tigers’ 50th Anniversary Ball which was held on Saturday evening at the town’s memorial hall.
In what was nothing less than a fantastic night, players and supporters of the club throughout the years travelled from near and far to attend the event of the year, some coming from Darwin, Melbourne, Queensland and from all over the state of New South Wales.
Many old friends were reunited and the newer players got to get a sense of the history of the club with so many ex-supporters and players attending.
The night commenced with drinks and nibbles in the hall and a delicious meal served in a gorgeously decorated marquee.
Speeches were made by Mal Carpenter, Jim Bible, Ian Toole, Tim Jenkins, Phil Palmer, David Dugan, Wayne Tilden and Al Hattersley.
The highlight of the night was the awarding of life membership to Jim Wade and Andrew Flinn in recognition of their huge contribution to the club over many years.
A big thank you must go to all who went along to the evening, players and supporters past and present, not to mention everyone who helped make it the success it was, especially the organisers, Emma Livingstone, Richard Flinn and James Hamilton.
