This year sees the Nyngan Ag Expo committee celebrate its 20th year. Having commenced in 1992 with four exhibitors it has seen a growth during those 20 years to boasting 260 exhibitors in 2011. Chairperson for 2012 Rob Avard said this event had experienced a continual demand for expansion of sites and would expand sites again this year to accommodate new and old exhibitor enquiries.
“The committee is delighted to welcome the Central West Catchment Management Authority as the naming rights sponsor for this year, we thank Essential Energy for their past naming sponsorship and are appreciative of their ongoing support as a gold sponsor,” he said.
“Sponsor support is invaluable to the Nyngan Ag Expo,” Mr Avard said.
“It plays a vital role in ensuring the longevity and overall success of this event. We as a committee subscribe to a set of standards that are focused on informing, educating and promoting business in the rural sector.”
This year on Saturday August 4, a new event will be held in conjunction with the Ag Expo committee, in the centre arena the NSW Equestrian (Western Division) will hold two competition events over two days.
“This event will attract the August show run competitors and we hope to host both professional and amateur participants from within NSW,” said Penny Hoy, organiser of the event.
“We also endeavour to encourage our local children to compete more in this type of event.”
While big machinery, sheep and cattle displays are a vital part of what brings the farming community to the Nyngan Ag Expo, smaller equipment and lifestyle products and services have an equally important part to lay in Australian rural and agricultural life. The Australian Year of the Farmer Roadshow will be attending, as well as: rural advisory groups, the Royal Flying Doctors, Salvation Army and various educational colleges.
The Nyngan Ag Expo is very proud to offer our sponsors; Central West Catchment Management Authority, Essential Energy, Aussie Country Catering, Parisi Motorcycles, Bogan Shire Council, Coggan Wool, Elders, Telstra, Chesterfields Aust, Landmark, Weston Fencing, Radio 2WEB, Robert Handsaker Ford, Carter, Lindsay & Weber, Martel Accounting, The Land, Prime Television and Western Magazine a wide range of benefits for their support.
This year past members of the committee who have all been an integral part of the development of the expo over the past 20 years, are invited to contact the current committee with their stories or photographs and attend on the day.
