Tigers find it tough in miserable conditions

The Trangie Tigers recorded their second loss of the season going down to the Wellington Redbacks 19-5 on a wet Saturday afternoon at Wellington.

The miserable conditions nullified the Tigers young backline attack and suited the larger Wellington forward pack.

The Redbacks were able to score two converted tries in the first half to have a commanding 14-0 lead at half-time.

The Tigers hit back soon after half-time with a try to half-back, Tom Baker.

The Tigers were often called on to defend their line for many phases of Redback attack, which they did admirably, allowing Wellington in for a try only once in the second half. Leading the defensive effort was Tigers’ lock Justin Quigley.

This Saturday the Tigers are at home to the newly reformed Cumnock Stallions who last weekend beat the Mudgee number one team.

The club will be hosting the annual Union Bank Wine Store Ladies Day at the oval as well.

The Tigers welcome all ladies to the tent for drinks and nibbles.
