The social bowlers for Tuesday only totalled four so a friendly cup of coffee and a chat was followed by a few ends of pairs; not much news coming from that.
Two teams of fours travelled to Gilgandra on Tuesday to compete in the Godwin Shield. They reported that they had a great time although were not the outright winners on the day. The shield was won by West Dubbo but our teams were not without some success. The team of Judy Bateman, Janet Coote, Ruth Bullock and Jan Buswell lost their game in the morning against Dubbo City but won decisively in the afternoon game against Wellington with a great finish taking seven out of eight on the last end. The team of Carol Carnivale, Nola Schroder, Judy Weir and Rosalie Woods won both of their games but unfortunately did not have a large enough margin to take out the trophy. Well done ladies, you did your club proud.
Next Tuesday will be the first round of the club fours and the draw is on the board.
There is also a card on the board for A and B pairs for entries in these events although a starting date has not yet been determined.
A reminder again that the AGM is approaching quickly as it will be held at 2pm on Monday July 9 at the clubhouse. A good attendance would be appreciated. Could you please watch the board for a notice of motion to be voted on at the AGM.
The Sunday morning mixed social bowls are still on and there were only three ladies there last week. If you feel like a fun morning of bowls put your name in by 9.30am for start of play at 10am.
We had a team entered in the Mid West Versatility Day at Dubbo Railway yesterday but no results to hand at this stage.
That is all i have to report this week so until next week, good bowling.
