Health-care heroes wanted

Sensis, publisher of the Yellow Pages® and White Pages®, wants to hear from locals in the Narromine shire who are making their communities a healthier place as part of its annual call out for inspiring people to feature on the covers of its phone books.

Celebrating the value of good health, Sensis wants to recognise selfless Australians who go above and beyond to improve the quality of life in their local area, by featuring them on the cover of next year’s Dubbo Yellow Pages® and White Pages® Book.

Whether they’re tireless charity fundraisers, ingenious doctors or warm-hearted volunteers, White Pages® product manager Sarah Simpson said Sensis is searching for health-care heroes as part of next year’s 2013/14 theme Keeping Our Communities Healthy.

“Every Australian understands the value of good health,” Ms Simpson said.

“It is what every parent wishes for their child and every individual hopes will never desert them. And at the heart of Australia’s health-care industry are the selfless men and women who devote their time to improving others’ quality of life.”

According to Ms Simpson they want to celebrate those individuals keeping our communities healthy, whether it’s through raising funds for health-related

charities, initiating support groups, promoting preventative health care messages or pioneering a major medical breakthrough.

“No matter how big or small their actions, helping improve another’s quality of life should be commended,” she said.
