The Club Fours final was held last Thursday and ended up a close match. The team of Rosalie Woods, Nola Schroder, Bev Bulley and Kerry Woods started off well and were leading until well into the match but all credit to the team of Judy Weir, Jeanette Short, Betty Purvis and Barbara Newbold as they worked their way to the top including a couple of four shot ends and ended up the winners by two shots.
Congratulations to those ladies.
The Pairs Championships begin next Tuesday and the draw is as follows: (1) Betty Purvis and Rosalie Woods v Janet Coote and Maureen Bootle; (2) Peg Sumpter and Dawn Barry v Nola Schroder and Judy Bateman; (3) Helen Woolfe and Ruth Bullock - Bye.

That big occasion of the AGM that I have been writing about for the last few weeks will actually take place next week on Monday July 9 so if possible please turn up and bring a small plate for afternoon tea. Remember to look at the notice board and be familiar with the Notice of Motion that needs to be voted on at the AGM.
Commemoration Day is on July 17 and there is a card on the board for entries and players are asked to bring a small plate for afternoon tea and will need to bring their own lunch.
Sunday mixed bowls are still happening so keep this event in mind as it is a lot of fun.
