Bid to revitalise rep basketball

Three associations from the old Macquarie Conference Area - Narromine, Gilgandra and Mudgee - are teaming together in an effort to reform representative basketball in this area.

Inter-town games between these three associations will be played on Sunday July 29 at the Narromine Sports Centre.

At present the Narromine Basketball Association are having training sessions each Sunday morning between 9am and 10.30am to form representative sides. All present and past players are all invited to attend in the following age groups: U10 mixed, U12 boys and girls, U14 boys. Trainings for U16 girls, U18 boys, open men and women will be Wednesday nights from 7pm to 8pm. There is no cost to the individual players as the association will meet all expenses.

Training times are as follows:

9am to 10.30am for U10 girls, U12 boys and girls, and U14 boys on July 22

6.30 to 8pm for U16 girls, U18 boys, open men and women on July 18 and July 25.

U10 Girls

Izzy Attwater, Tahlia Heckendorf, Kaitlin Heckendorf, Kira-Lyn Edwards and Jay-Lee Edwards.

U12 Girls

Brooklyn Attwater, Izzy Attwater, Jessica Mills, Kira-Lyn Edwards, Kiah Edwards, Eloise Bell, Amber Collins, Makalia Edwards and Darcy Benger.

U12 Boys

Jared Heckendorf, Hugh Tuck, Thomas Svensson, Sam Finlayson. Preston Carney, Tom Gill, Ben Florida and Fergus Tuck.

U14 Boys

Jake Arnaudon, Mark Coleman, Joshua Irvine, William Campbell, Brodie Haddon, Sam Tuck, Jack Finlayson.

U16 Girls

Brittany Bayliss, Caitlin Bayliss, Haylee McManus, Megan Hughes, Amy Knight, Toneaka Simpson and Yasmin Brook.

U18 Boys

Ryan Richardson, Zach Shennan, Dean O’Brien, Braydon McManus, Chris Dugan, Isaac Thompson, William Coleman, Thomas Shennan and Daniel Battishall.

Open Women

Kristy Brewster, Lynda Edwards, Haylee McCrohan, Donna Walker, Wendy Richardson, Maryann Cape, Ashleigh Bayliss, Allison Attwater, Natasha Edwards and Lyndall Thompson.

Open Men

Craig Milnes, Patrick Miller, Adam Walker, Todd Whittaker, Brendon Moore, Ben Staines, Matthew Edwards and David McKinnon.

The first of these representative days will be held at the Narromine Sports Centre on Sunday July 29.

We welcome as many community members to come along and cheer on our teams, especially our juniors.

Games are due to commence at about 9am.

Also on this day a meeting will be held amongst association representatives in an effort to organise round robin inter-town competitions during the off season of other sports.
