POLICE REPORT: In the early hours of June 30, a 50-year -old man was submitted to a random breath test in the Trangie area returning a positive breath test. This man was arrested and subsequently charged with driving a motor vehicle with mid-range prescribed concentration of alcohol (PCA). His driver’s licence was also suspended by police. He was granted bail to appear at court at a later date.
Such incidents are a timely reminder that if you choose to consume alcohol you need to arrange for a designated driver if you require transport.
Recently the Trangie Lions Club has been operating a shuttle bus in the Trangie area to take people from licensed premises to their homes in Trangie for a small fee. This service can be accessed through the manager of the premises.
On the afternoon of July 17 police stopped a vehicle towing a trailer not displaying registration plates in the Narromine area. As a result of this vehicle stop a 20-year-old man was issued with an infringement for using a unregistered trailer, being for $596.
If you see an unregistered vehicle or trailer out and about do not hesitate to contact the local police station (Narromine 6889 1444), so police can investigate and take action accordingly.
On the night of July 19 police observed a vehicle failing to stop at a stop sign on the railway crossing on Dandaloo Road Narromine. As a result of this vehicle stop a 29-year-old man was issued an infringement for ‘not stop at stop line/sign at level crossing’, being for $397 and three demerit points. He was also issued with an infringement for not carrying his driver’s licence for $99.
The Orana Crime manager is appealing to the driver of a silver coloured Toyota Prado who is believed to be the victim of a ‘road rage’ type incident about 6.35pm on Thursday July 19 at the intersection of Brisbane and Church streets Dubbo to come forward.
