Local Government Week 2012 - Narromine Shire Council will be celebrating Local Government Week from August 13-19. The Theme for 2012 is “Local Knowledge, Local Services, Local Community”. Students from schools within the shire will be asked to participate in a number of activities to be held during Local Government Week. A highlight from last year was a mock council meeting conducted by the senior citizens of Narromine, followed by a morning tea. Council will again ask the seniors to participate in this fun morning. Further details will be provided closer to the date.

Payment of Expenses and Provision of Facilities for Mayor and Councillors’ Policy - Council resolved to give public notice of its intention to adopt the draft Policy for the Payment of Expenses and the Provision of Facilities for Mayors and Councillors of Narromine Shire Council at its meeting held on July 17. Copies of the draft policy are on public exhibition for 28 days at the Narromine Shire Council Chambers, council’s website www.narromine.nsw.gov.au, Narromine and Trangie Libraries and the BP Service Station at Tomingley.

Any submissions should be in writing and addressed to the General Manager, Narromine Shire Council, 124 Dandaloo Street, Narromine. Closing date for submissions is Friday August 17. For any enquiries please contact Council’s Director of Corporate and Community Services on 6889 9999.

Documents of Public Exhibition 2012/2013 Fees and Charges - At the ordinary meeting of council held on July 17, council resolved to remove the word “commercial” from the clean organics waste charge on page 13 of the adopted fees and charges for 2012/13 and place the draft fee change on public comment for 28 days. Council is required to notify the public and provide the opportunity for submissions regarding this amendment.

The amended document may be viewed at the council chambers, 124 Dandaloo Street, Narromine and on council’s website: www.narromine.nsw.gov.au from Friday July 27. The document is also available at the Trangie Library and the BP Service Station at Tomingley.

Anyone wishing to make a comment on the amended document can do so in writing addressed to the General Manager, Narromine Shire Council, PO Box 115, Narromine, NSW 2821. Comments or submissions will be received up to 5pm on Friday August 23.

Documents on Public Exhibition – On Street Dining - Articles on Footpaths Policy - At the Ordinary Meeting of Council held on 17 July 2012, Council resolved that the amendments to Council’s On Street Dining – Articles on Footpaths Policy be adopted and the draft changes be placed on public exhibition for 28 days to provide the community an opportunity to comment. Council is required to notify the public and provide the opportunity for submissions regarding this amendment. The amended document may be viewed at the Council Chambers, 124 Dandaloo Street, Narromine and on Council’s website: www.narromine.nsw.gov.au from Friday 27 July 2012. The document is also available at the Trangie Library and the BP Service Station at Tomingley.
