President of the Macquarie Matrons, Kelly Reynolds, was excited to present the finished product to guests after months of planning with her committee.
Ms Reynolds said she estimated more than 600 guests attended the ball in the Bellman Hanger, with Narromine's own Wright Flyer replica based as a centre piece next to the stage for the night.
"The MC for the night, Bob Walsh, spoke fantastically", Ms Reynolds said.
Guest speaker former Wallaby and NSW Waratah Rugby Union player Dan Vickerman shared the highs and lows of his rugby career, as well as his own values of mateship within a team.
Ms Reynolds was pleased with The Baker Boys band who proved to be a successful choice of entertainment, as guests and committee members made full use of the dancing space available.
"Everyone had a blast", Ms Reynolds said.
The smooth running of the night is sure to benefit the surrounding towns in the Macquarie Valley, with the first 25 per cent of the total the proceeds donated to the Blue Healers program which focusses on stress management, depression and anxiety. The remaining 75 per cent of the money from the ball will be directly distributed into the towns through the Macquarie Regional Support Fund.
"Overall it was a great night and I can't believe how much support we have had from the community", Ms Reynolds said.
The exact total of funds raised by the Matrons will not be released until later in the week.
