Rodney John Chadburne was taken into custody by Organised Crime Squad and West Pilbara detectives after a response team intercepted a vehicle in the small community of Chidlow, 45 kilometres east of Perth, on Wednesday.
Police allege a search of a NSW registered Toyota Land Cruiser towing a Victorian registered trailer located five Ford Falcon vehicle transmissions with sealed packages inside.
Police allege deconstruction of the transmissions revealed 15 packages wrapped in electrical tape.
The packages are alleged to have contained 483 grams of cocaine, 2 kilograms of methamphetamine and 8kg (about 32,000 tablets) of MDMA, widely known as ecstasy.
The drugs are estimated to have a street value of $3,362,259.
Chadburne is facing three charges of possessing prohibited drugs with intent to sell or supply cocaine, methamphetamine and MDMA.
He was brought before Midland Magistrates Court and remanded in custody until Thursday.
Police said the arrest followed ongoing efforts to identify, target and dismantle organised crime syndicates operating in Western Australia communities.
“This is a significant arrest for West Pilbara detectives,” a police media spokeswoman said.
“The seizure will reduce the availability of illicit drugs in the West Pilbara district.
“The Western Australia Police work closely with other states and territories law enforcement agencies to disrupt and dismantle organised crime syndicates ensuring they are not restricted by borders.
“Anyone transporting drugs into Western Australia will be investigated and caught.”
