The Dubbo Rhinos Gold team proved to be too good for the Trangie Tigers last Sunday at Trangie winning 38-20.
The Rhinos have regained many of their Blowes Cup players from 2012 after being forced last year by Central West into what is supposed to be the small towns' competition.
The Rhinos were first to score with an unconverted try, the Tigers replied with a penalty goal to captain Richard Flinn.
The Rhinos had the majority of the ball and stretched the Tigers' defence by great support play.
The Tigers' first try came from a blind side run from number eight Ben Griffiths who passed to Richard Flinn to score out wide.
Richard converted his own try.
The Rhinos scored two more tries to lead 17- 13 at half -time.
The most pleasing aspect of the Tigers' play was their scrums, the front row consisting of Todd Erickson, Tom Quigley, Trent Heckendorf and Robert Kinsey had the Rhinos' scrum under constant pressure.
While the Tigers' back row of Justin Quigley, Ned McCutcheon, Ben Griffiths and Adam Duncan were called upon to do a power of defending.
Following a series of scrums Justin Quigley was able to score Trangie's second try.
The Tigers' next game is against Yeoval at Yeoval on Saturday April 26
