Jack Gainsford, Jack Richardson and John Shepherdson (great line-out work) were standouts; while Tyler Farvis, Nate Piper (keen to chase every ball), and Michael Kent backed up non-stop. He was rewarded with a runaway try!
Highlights of Saturday's first round of the competition for Junior and Senior Gorillas:
Six tries to Under 13s: Alex Heap scored two, the first of which after six pairs of hands flawlessly spun the ball to the wing in the first minute of play.
One try each to Ollie Ferrari, Jacob Taylor, Nash Rodda and Angus Bodiam.
Bathurst's only try was scored by Narromine's player-on-loan Jack Smith.
Harry Kreuger, John Corderoy and Jordan Itoya had blinders!
The final score was 40-22 under 17s Gorillas, with stand-outs being Strath Munro in the centres, Jack Healey at five-eighth, Tyson Fuller, Alex Williams on the wing and Cooper Anning at prop.
And how good was it for the Juniors to watch the Seniors. The competitive Colts, and big wins to the firsts and seconds over Forbes!
The work rate of Luke Brown and Ryan Pratten, the deft ball skills of five-eighth CJ Smyth (top kick for Lighty's try), the off-loads of the steam-rolling Luke Thompson made for wonderful, crowd-pleasing rugby.
