Last Saturday the members of the Narromine Vets Golf Club participated in their monthly nine-hole competition.
It was a stableford event on the back nine which was played in conjunction with the main club competition.
A total of 10 players participated which was a good roll-up considering the Easter holidays.
Winner on the day was Bruce Mitchell with a very good score of 21 points.
This is the second win for the year for Bruce who is playing consistently well at the moment.
Runner-up was first-time veteran competitor Richard Duff who also recorded 21 points only to be defeated on a count back.
Third placing went to Chris Harding on 18 points.
Chris also won the vets' nearest the pin on the 10th hole.
It was a pretty good day, a little cool for those who finished late, however the course was in great order for the event.
The next nine-hole event for veterans will be on Saturday May 10, a stroke event on the front nine.
Upcoming WDVGA Open events are: Friday May 9, Dubbo (entry forms on the club noticeboard).
Thursday May, 15, Nyngan.
Thursday May 29, Mendooran.
The Narromine Vets' Open is scheduled for Thursday June 26 which will also include the WDVGA 3 Ball Championships in conjunction.
More about this event next month.
That's about all for this month.
Hope everyone had a happy Easter.
See you at the 19th.
