With Easter the main item on the agenda last week, up at the Bowly the action was restricted to social play, so on Thursday some dozen gentlemen had a bit of a hit-out. On Sunday it seems most of our regulars were either looking for chocolates with the grandkids or trying to win some at the various tournaments around the traps, leaving us with just eight keen little bunnies for the chook run.

A full wrap of both day's play went this way. On Thursday Don Gibson, Bob Weir and David McNair snuck over the line winning 17/15 over Mal Dawes, Clifton Harris and Arnold Gillespie whilst Warren Brown, Bob Ashdown and Don Sullivan also did it "tuff" in their 25/20 win over Peter Kelly, Robert Bateman and Bob Davis.
At least the Judge didn't give the jackpot away and nor did he on Sunday when Robert Bateman and Heather McIntyre proved a tad too good for their opponents winning 15/8.
Not to be outdone Judy Bateman and Warren Brown had a very tidy 20/10 win over Geordie and Betty to claim the lion's share of the loot on offer.
Nominations for the A singles are coming along nicely but there is always room for a few more names, have you nominated yet?
I wouldn't leave it too much longer as this event is scheduled to kick off early May and that's just around the corner as well.
I was away for the last round of pennants and so missed the interesting final matches of both grades who were playing at home.
All in all our top grade, although running last in its division, were certainly in with a chance in most games and hopefully next season will be able to call on this past season's experience to be even more competitive next year.
Our Grade six squad finally stepped up to the plate the last couple of matches and played to their potential and because they did were able to "sneak in the back door" so to speak and claim the district flag, well done boys.
But the job's not finished yet with the zone play-offs at West Dubbo in June still to be played where if they can maintain their recent good form a zone flag beckons and a chance to play in the state finals in August.
So whilst a well done is in order only more of the same will see thissquad advance to the next stage of this division.
Not much more to report on, hopefully I will have some successful Easter tournament results to report on next week.
