Talented singers from around the region gathered for the inaugural competition last year and judge, home-grown talent and former X-Factor star Jason Owen is expecting the same enthusiasm this year.
"We think it's going to be three times bigger and better this year," he said. "We're super excited."
Mr Owen will join local talents Tammy Jones and Bill Amos on the judging panel.
The competition is similar to hit TV show The Voice currently airing on Channel Nine.
The judges will challenge each other for the best talent from around the region to be on their teams.
"Fifty-six auditioned last year, we have a top 24, so four under 18s and four over 18s each," Mr Owen said.
While selecting their competitors, the judges are known to get a bit competitive.
"We're looking for the best talent, we want to win too," Mr Owen said.
"Last year Tammy won both sections, with Katrina Barnes and Nathan Leach, can Tammy do it back-to-back?"
After they get through the auditions, contestants then select songs from the karaoke book to perform at the live final.
The Voice of the Outback also doubles as a fundraiser for a local charity.
"It's a $2 donation to audition for the under 18s and a $5 donation to audition in the over 18s," Mr Owens said.
"It's a gold coin donation to vote during the live finals."
Last year the competition raised $4500 for the Children's Foundation.
Mr Owen is excited about the unfounded talent in the outback.
"I love to help out here," he said.
"Myself and Bill created J & B Productions if we found strong talent we'd manage them, try and get them gigs around the Central West, maybe release a local album."
Auditions will take place on June 28 and 29 at the USMC auditorium from 10am.
Live finals will then take place on July 4, 11 and 18 at the USMC with the Grand Finale taking place on July 26.
This year's competition is advertised from Parkes to Gilgandra, Orange to Nyngan, so Mr Owen is hoping to find some great talent.
"It's pretty exciting," he said.
