Melinda Brown, Project Officer of the AECG brought the Connecting Country program to Narromine and spent part of this week with the local teachers.
"We're educating the teachers in connecting Aboriginal culture in schools in the local area," she said.
"Understanding history, Aboriginal sites and Aboriginal communities to have more connection."
Ms Brown travels with this program around the state and said it's been successful in other areas.
"There's more understanding on how Aboriginal people feel," she said.
Ms Brown said the program used the past to educate for the future.
The group gathered in the Macquarie Regional Library Narromine on Monday to spend some time with local historian Norma Medley to learn about the local area.
