RSPCA and local rangers have removed a dog belonging to the alleged biological parents of baby Gammy from their South Bunbury property, amid fears of neglect.
The authorities arrived at the property at 2.15pm and the dog was provided food before being removed.
A notice was served and pinned to the couple's front door.
One of the media outlets, camped at the front of the home since Monday morning in an attempt to speak to the couple, made the call to the RSPCA about midday.
The large dog had been in the backyard during this time and it was uncertain whether it had been supplied with fresh food or water.
Meanwhile, reports the WA Police will search for the alleged biological parents of baby Gammy if the Department of Child Protection efforts continue to be unsuccessful are not accurate, according to a department spokesman.
The couple are refusing to meet with the officers who are investigating the “suitability” of the family.
Earlier on Wednesday, two Department of Child Protection officers visited the home at 10am after failing to make contact with the couple on Tuesday night.
They knocked on the front door for several minutes before leaving the house.
The officers declined to comment when approached by media.
The whereabouts of the couple and their baby daughter, baby Gammy’s twin sister, is unknown.
The department is expected to issue a statement sometime Wednesday.
