While the year did not prove to be a particularly successful one for the men in red, they were able to finish on a high defeating Parkes 38-5 in wet conditions.
The Boars were first to trouble the scorer after a kick from winger Henry Buttsworth was charged down and the loose ball dived on in goal.
The conversion was unsuccessful and the score remained 0-5.
From this point it was all the Gorillas in what was quite a sloppy game of rugby, played in challenging conditions by two teams who were at the end of a long campaign.
Gorillas fly-half Greg Wynn had a terrific day out, crossing the stripe for a hat-trick of tries and could've easily had four if the final pass went to hand.
Prop Charlie Tuck showed once again he may be a winger stuck in a front-rower's body scoring twice and finding open space on several occasions and Buttsworth rounded out the scoring with a five-pointer of his own.
Fullback Tom Harrison kicked well in his final game for the Gorillas, slotting four conversions and manipulating territory well in general play.
Other notable performances came from winger Jakob "honey badger" Short and Craig "the warhorse" Campbell who never plays a bad game.
Final Score Narromine: 38 (Greg Wynn 3, Charlie Tuck 2, Henry Buttsworth tries, Tom Harrison 4 conversions) def Parkes: 5
Second grade: Parkes 15 def Narromine 0
Colts: Parkes 34 def Narromine 0
While the first grade boys missed out on the finals this year they were by no means disgraced putting in some excellent performances against quality oppositions.
It was a season of "could've beens" with several close losses that proved costly at the end of the year.
A big thanks to all the players who turned out and committed themselves to the club and an even bigger thanks to the supporters and sponsors who make it possible for the club to function successfully.
See you all in 2015.
