Inspirational quotes on social media can be fairly annoying, and wrongly-attributed quotes are even worse. It’s not just your high school friends who are guilty of this, however: Some big celebrities have misquoted other famous people for some social media likes too. Reese Witherspoon is the most recent celebrity to commit the crime, posting a picture with the quote, ‘The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away,’ attributed to William Shakespeare.

7.49: Taking a closer look at today's front page story this morning:
A local community club has been devastated by a robbery that has left it without thousands of dollars worth of equipment.
Members of the DUBBO Woodturning and Woodcrafting club arrived for their weekly meeting yesterday at the Cobra Street workshop to find the Colorbond sheeting had been unscrewed off two locked doors to allow thieves access to the workshop.
More than $4000 in specialist woodworking tools and equipment had been taken.
Club treasurer Charles Fletcher said the robbery was unusual because they targeted a number of items that wouldn't catch the eye of most people.
"We were broken into three years ago and on that occasion they took a saw and a few small tools and this is the second time it has happened to us. The club only makes a small amount of money from raffles and club membership fees and using some of that money it sponsors the oncology unit at the hospital,"
- Charles Fletcher

7.39: Sorry about the delay this morning, there seems to have been a technical glitch in the system but we're working around it! Hope you stayed with us!
7.28: Making regional and national news this morning:
BATHURST: Police are appealing to the public for information about the fifth arson attack in the city in less than a week. Police are investigating two separate vehicle fires reported on Monday and Tuesday. On Monday night a Ford Festiva was destroyed by fire around 9.30pm in Gilmour Street, while a second vehicle was set alight in Church Lane (off Gilmour Street) around 5.45am on Tuesday.
KELSO: A man fronting court on a string of driving and theft matters has been jailed. Allan James Stoddart, 32, formerly of McMenamin Place appeared before magistrate Michael Allen last week. Stoddart faced charges including police pursuit, not stop – drive recklessly, break enter and steal, take conveyance without consent, drive whilst disqualified and possess a prohibited drug.
NATIONAL: The mental health crisis inside the detention centre on Christmas Island is now taking its toll on those who guard the asylum seekers, with one female employee attempting to take her life and a male considered at serious risk of self-harm. The two Serco employees, whose distress was prompted by prolonged exposure to depressed and self-harming asylum seekers, have been flown to the mainland.
NATIONAL: Cardinal George Pell was advised by his own independent investigator that a paedophile priest should be removed from the ministry, documents reveal. Cardinal Pell last year told the state's inquiry into the handling of child abuse that Father Peter Searson had never been convicted of "sexual misbehaviour". But a report tabled in Parliament on Wednesday revealed that Cardinal Pell was advised years earlier that Mr Searson had abused children when he was a priest at Doveton's Holy Family School.
NATIONAL: Teenagers in NSW are purchasing illegal, original-branded cigarette packets, claiming the original packaging makes them “cooler”. Fifteen-year-old student Rosie said the original packaging detracted from the effectiveness of plain packaging.
7.19: Making local news this morning:
A new educational program designed to meet the needs of students and prospective employers will get under way at DUBBO College Senior Campus next year. It focuses on real work skills and has been designed for students who struggle with the rigours of the Higher School Certificate but are determined to finish their education and contribute to the workforce.
Staff and volunteers at Meals on Wheels DUBBO were recognised for their contributions during a ceremony at the organisation's Mountbatten Drive premises this week. The celebration, also marked the start of increased services, new delivery vehicles and the installation of new freezers, much of which was made possible through federal government funding. Meals on Wheels Dubbo Service Manager Peter English said the upgrades would not only help Dubbo but the 30 per cent of NSW, geographically, the operation serviced.
DUBBO residents are hoping the city's run of luck continues as they charge into local newsagencies to buy entries in tonight's massive $70 million Powerball draw. The city sold a $1 million winner in Monday night's Lotto draw, just months after a whopping $50 million Powerball winner was sold in Dubbo in December.
A funeral service on Saturday will celebrate the life of DUBBO's Clare Diffey who passed away this week. The five-year-old daughter of local couple Jane and Angus Diffey lived with the rare neurological disorder Rett Syndrome. She was the inspiration behind Clare's Angels, a charity dedicated to helping local families.
The NYNGAN Observer got out on the streets and asked locals what they thought of the beatification of Pangee Street. Here are their answers.
The community has thanked long time volunteer Wendy Blake for her more than 34 years of dedication to the Wellington Eisteddfod which ended with a spectacular grand concert at the Civic centre before a big crowd. ‘’Over the years people who I have guided have gone onto the big things from this Eisteddfod and by being part of it you just never know where you end up’’ she said.
In an age where digital technology is taking over, man’s best friend is still the best weapon for firefighters to detect how fires have started. Canine handler Tim Garrett and Sheba, a labrador, were in NYNGAN last Friday to investigate a fire that gutted a Nyngan home. Firefighters from Fire and Rescue NSW and the NSW Rural Fire Service were called to the house fire in Nyngan Street just after midnight on Thursday.
