DUBBO Westside's return season in Group 11 ended on Saturday, with the Rabbitohs bowing out on a losing note after going down 44-28 to Narromine at Cale Oval.
Jets captain-coach Mick Clarke and fullback Shaun Gordon each scored two tries as the hosts crossed the line on eight occasions on their annual charity day.
Despite the fact both sides had little to play for as far as finals were concerned, the crowd was kept entertained as Westside bagged five tries of their own.
The match wasn't without controversy though as Westside pair Robbie Olsen and Brad Darcy were sent from the field just seconds before the half-time break.
While they ended the 2014 season with the wooden spoon, the Rabbitohs did manage three wins over the course of their 2014 campaign to give themselves a solid platform from which to prepare for next season.
Also on Saturday, Forbes and Cobar played out a thrilling 18-all draw at Spooner Oval.
The Roosters are usually suspect away from home but showed the kind of willingness and dedication that has been the hallmark of the latter weeks of their season.
Second-rower Matt Grayson deserves special mention for his performance as he backed up from playing five-eighth in the Roosters' 30-24 loss in reserve grade to start in the second row for first grade.
His reward for the day's work as a combined total of one try and seven goals.
After struggling for a win through the opening nine rounds of the year, the Roosters raced up the ladder over the final weeks to finish in sixth position.
Strangely for a competition that sees each team play 16 games in the home-and-away rounds, Cobar ended their 2014 campaign with three draws to go with their three wins and 10 losses.
They will also head into the off-season knowing two of those draws came against minor premiers Dubbo CYMS and second-placed Wellington.
