The competition was very tough with the two top students and relay teams from each region in the state competing.
It was extremely hard to make state finals. Narromine high students made nine finals and won four medals which is an amazing result for any school, let alone our small community school.
Aiden Butcher won gold in the javelin and discus and sixth in the shot-put final.
This was a wonderful result, he threw a massive personal best in the javelin and made three state finals.
Kaitlin Butcher won silver in a very close final and sixth in the discus final. Fantastic results.
Kaitlin and Aiden thoroughly deserve these excellent results as they are very dedicated to their sport and train very hard.
Brad Simmons won a bronze medal in a very exciting 200metre final and sixth in the 100 metre finals.
You could have thrown a blanket over the finish line in these races they were that close. Fantastic results Brad.
Jordan Itoya was fourth in the shot-put throwing really well to get this great result in his first state final.
Sixteen year old boys four x 100 metre relay runners Brad Simmons, Isaac Thompson, Kane Walsh and Alex Williams ran an amazing heat to finish second.
They went into the final ranked eight with the goal of cracking the 46 second mark.
They ran a brilliant race in the time of 45.82 and finished seventh, with a few hundredths of a second separating third to eighth places.
These boys should be very proud of themselves. This is the fastest relay time by a team from our school and we have made a lot of boys relay finals over the years.
The boys 14 relay four x 100m team of Washy Itoya, Blane Corcoran, Cameron Simmons and Isayah Kelly also ran a great race, slashing nearly four seconds from their personal best. All four boys are to be commended on their great race. They finished fifteenth.
Larissa Kennedy ran really well finishing a very creditable 12th in the 200 metre and 15th in the 100m. She had to start off blocks for the first time which is a daunting task.
Washy Itoya competed in the high jump and finished 18th.
Congratulations to the 12 students on your wonderful achievement at CHS, Narromine High is very proud of you.
