This year the show team had five steers which they prepared and presented at Dubbo, Trundle, Peak Hill, Parkes and Narromine Shows.
The students worked very hard, breaking in and preparing the steers for the show season, and were rewarded with some great results.
Our show team this year consisted of Nathan Leach, Jordi Bakac, Maddy Preston, Abby Benger, Chelcey Hancock, Jordayna Smith, Mackenzie Stirling, Claudia Hodgess, Rebekah Reid, Matrika Munday, Samantha Tighe, Emma Fazzari, Ashah Shepherd, Sophie Walker, Sarah Coffee and Tiarna Graham.
The students also participated in Junior Paraders and Junior Judging competitions at each of the shows, with some excellent results.
Peak Hill was a very successful show for our show team.
Stand out performances included:
Nathan leach - Grand champion Parader, Matrika Munday - Champion Novice Parader, Emma Fazzari - first, Claudia Hodgess second and Mackenzie Stirling third in their Paraders class.
Samantha Tighe was awarded fourth place in the Junior Judging which was an excellent effort considering it was a very competitive field.
Nathan Leach was awarded Champion Junior Judge.
Our success continued at Parkes Show with some outstanding results in the very tough Junior Judging competition.
There were over 50 competitors in this event, and our students performed extremely well. Special mention must go to Chelcey Hancock and Sammy Tighe who were the only students to get the line-up correct in the beef cattle junior judging.
Ashah Shepherd was awarded third place in the fleece junior judging, Sophie Walker was awarded a place in the Merino ram junior judging and Maddy Preston came second in grain judging.
In the Paraders competition, Jordi Bakac came first and Maddy Preston came third.
Trundle Show was also very successful, with Claudia and Jordi coming first and second in Paraders and Sammy Tighe making the finals for junior judging.
Our final show for the season was Narromine Show, and once again our students were very successful. Mackenzie Stirling won her Paraders event, and Jordi Bakac came first in her Junior Judging event.
The Narromine High School Show team would like to thank the people involved in helping us to be so successful, including Dick Leach, Suzie Bone and Mal McIntyre.
A special thanks to Agrigrain for their continued support. It is greatly appreciated.
