Activities will include: Christmas craft, dreamcatchers, bingo at the Narromine USMC, an excursion to Dubbo to the model train club, Old Dubbo Gaol and the Japanese and Biodiversity gardens, visits to the library and skate park, art, cooking, movies, shabby chic signs and party day at the firepit. Applications for Financial Assistance/Donations 2014/2015 - Close today September 19 - Donations and sponsorships are one of the methods that can be utilised by council to recognise and encourage individuals and "not-for-profit" or community organisations also committed to achieving these objectives. Council will consider requests for donations, sponsorship and the waiver of council fees and charges.
Applications must be on council's application form which can be found on council's website. Forms can also be obtained from Council's Customer Service Building, 120 Dandaloo Street, Narromine or by phoning 02 6889 9999. The closing date is today Friday September 19. These will be considered and assessed at council's meeting on October 8.
Applications can be hand delivered to the above address, addressed to the general manager, or emailed to mail@narromine.nsw.gov.au. For any queries on the above, please contact council, on 6889 9999.
Service Requests to Council - Residents are advised to phone council's office on 6889 9999 if you need to make a request for service. Your call will then be directed to the appropriate department of council for action. Residents are requested not to approach staff at council depots asking for service. Council would like to thank the residents of Narromine, Tomingley and Trangie for their co-operation in this matter.
Alcohol-Free Zones - In October 2010, council renewed the alcohol-free zones (AFZ) in the Narromine and Trangie townships which captures all footpaths and roads within the 50km speed areas. The declared time frame for these zones is due to expire at the end of November 2014. Council believes these AFZs have assisted in combating anti-social behaviour and is considering extending these zones for a further four years.
If you wish to make a submission regarding the proposed AFZ, the public exhibition period ends at 4pm on October 1. Submissions should be received by council in writing, addressed to the General Manager, Narromine Shire Council, PO Box 115, Narromine, prior to the exhibition period ending. This is in addition to the previous vandalism which has been reported around the shire. If you witness any acts of vandalism to public property around the Narromine, Trangie or Tomingley areas, please contact Narromine Police on 6889 1444.
Documents on Public Exhibition - Draft Onsite Sewage Management System Strategy - At the Ordinary Meeting of Council held September 10 council resolved to adopt a draft Onsite Sewage Management System Strategy and place the document on public exhibition for 28 days. This document may be viewed on council's website: www.narromine.nsw.gov.au, at Council's Administration Building and Customer Service and Payments Centre, Dandaloo Street, Narromine, Narromine and Trangie Libraries and the BP Service Station at Tomingley. Anyone wishing to make a submission on the draft strategy can do so in writing addressed to the General Manager, Narromine Shire Council, PO Box 115, Narromine, NSW, 2821 Submissions will be received up to 5pm Friday October 24 2014.
