The club is presenting this citizenship award in memory of Dr McLaughlan instigating Lions in Narromine and also to recognise his outstanding contribution to the Narromine community.
According to Narromine Lions president Bob Davis, these students have set an excellent example for fellow students to follow and are deserving recipients of this scholarship.
"Helping young people continue their education is one of the challenges our community faces and it's a need our club continues to address,'' he said.
"We are also extraordinarily grateful for the support and contributions we received from members of the community. You are helping us make a difference."
To assist in the provision of this bursary and the continuation of Narromine Lions' contribution back to the community one of the major fundraisers, being the Christmas raffle, has commenced at Coles.
The Narromine Lions Club has 28 members and meets on the first and third Wednesday of each month at 7pm for a 7.30pm start at the USMC.
Lions clubs are groups of men and women who identify needs within the community and work together to fulfill those needs.
