A man arrested over a home invasion that left a victim in a coma was not required to appear on the prison audiovisual screen when eight charges were brought before Dubbo Local Court.

Mark Ernest Boyd was taken into custody at Narromine on April 26 on four charges of assault and single charges of special aggravated break and enter inflict grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, aggravated break and enter in company and malicious damage.
The Office of the Director of Public Prosecution said co-accused Clint David Boyd would be before Narromine Local Court on November 11.
"We want to link up the matters which are both likely to be pleas," the prosecutor said.
Magistrate Andrew Eckhold adjourned the charges against Mark Boyd to November 28.
There was no application for bail which was formally refused by the court.
Prosecution facts allege Mark Boyd, 27, entered a house in Murgah Street, Narromine, at 1.30am on April 26 in company with his brother Clint Boyd, 29, of Trundle.
The co-accused are alleged to have forced their way through a front door and bedroom window.
Police allege a 54-year-old man sustained grievous bodily harm when he was punched and kicked to the head.
The victim was taken to Dubbo Hospital for treatment and transferred to Sydney in a critical condition. He was placed in an induced coma at Westmead Hospital.
Police allege a woman sustained actual bodily harm. Two other women were allegedly assaulted.
Police allege the house was "trashed".
