Former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell announced her engagement to Red Bull Formula One team boss Christian Horner in the UK newspaper The Times, just as Cumberbatch did.
"Mr C.E.J. Horner OBE and Geri Halliwell, The engagement is announced between Christian, son of Mr and Mrs G.M. Horner and Geraldine, daughter of the late Mr L.F. Halliwell and Mrs A. Parkinson," the $595 announcement in Tuesday's Births, Deaths and Marriages section read.
Halliwell then followed up with the more modern celebritrend of announcing her news via Twitter.
"Christian and I are delighted to announce that we are engaged! We're both very happy," she wrote.
Halliwell, 42, and Horner, 40, have been friends since 2009, and made their first public appearance as a couple in March 2014.
The pair both have children from previous partners.
Halliwell has an eight-year-old daughter Bluebell and her fiance has a one-year-old daughter Olivia.
