The children summed up her years at St Augustine's in thoughts, prayer and songs.
She was then surprised by a "Colmer Corner" mosaic plaque in dedication of her time as principal and her contributions to the school. Her husband Dean was principal of St Augustine's School from 1992 to 2000.
The plaque is situated near the new playground equipment that was funded this year by the hardworking P & F committee.
Staff members from the Catholic Education Office as well as Parish Priest Fr. Jordan Perry also attended the assembly.
Many parents and friends were also in attendance and enjoyed a morning tea afterwards.
That afternoon Bishop Columba came to speak to the confirmation candidates but treated the whole school to an impromptu demonstration on the bagpipes.
