I have been noticing that runway lights at Narromine Airport are being turned on every Sunday night, with no aircraft landing or taking off.
As nice as it may be for the millionaires playground to have a lovely backdrop for their Sunday night barbecue, I object to paying for the power they are using, as a ratepayer.
Has council introduced any fees for the use of Narromine Airport yet, like the fees we all have to pay to use the pool, fitness centre, waste depot, water, sewerage, or is that one of the reasons we need a rate increase? I have heard all the b......t about all the money activities at the airport bring to Narromine, but I would argue that the majority of the meat, vegetables etc that is used to feed most of the pilots is indeed purchased in Dubbo.
Please direct the airport "USERS" to cease turning on the runway lights for their own benefit, that is costing ratepayers unnecessary electricity costs.
