Not quite as exciting as Sunday's final of the PGA championships but most enjoyable.
The Narromine course has improved dramatically since the recent rain and attention by our greens staff. In the ladies division there were eight starters with the winner being Jan Brennan on 19 points - well done Jan.
Runner up was Maida O'Mally on 18 points and no ladies were successful in the nearest to the pin competition so it will jackpot to next week.Thirteen men participated and John Butcher was successful with a great round of 24 points.
It seems all these fellows save up their good rounds for the festive season.
Second place went to Bob Culhane on 21.Who said left handers can't play-first Culhane and then Chalmers on Sunday.
The nearest the pin went to Vince Ferrari with a great shot on the 17th.The pool comp continued after golf and only a small field playing. Winners were Terry Willis and Norm Lewis who defeated Ross King and Rusty McKenzie. Not happy with the result the losers insisted on another frame and guess what-they lost again. This Saturday will be the Gerries Christmas game with some lovely Chinese nibbles after golf and of course a few drinks to celebrate the festive season.
The ladies will play the back nine and the men the front with hit off at the usual time of 9am.As this will be the last paper the some three weeks, the Gerries will play their usual competitions on December 20 and 27 and January 3 with hit offs at the usual 9am.See you all on the tee on Saturday, Happy Christmas to all and may 2015 be a good one for you all.
