Affectionately known as "Dr Mac", Keith spent 47 years as a general practitioner retiring in 1997.
He was a founding member of Narromine Lions Club, Squash Club and Gun Club.
He was a patron of the Narromine Amateur Swimming Club and a member of the NSW Central Fundraising Committee of the NSW Air Ambulance Service.
He also served on Narromine's Municipal Council.
He was awarded honorary life membership of the NSW Cerebral Palsy Association in 1983 and presented with an OAMin 1989.
Dr Mac died April 20, 2012 at the age of 90.
Dr Mac touched the lives of many in the area and was well loved by all who knew him.
This Bursary is presented to recognise the contribution to the Narromine community and Lions by Dr Keith McLachlan.
The criteria when considering this bursary may include consistent scholastic effort, sportsmanship, citizenship, studentship, improvement during the school year and general all-rounder.
