In a stunt which seemed driven purely by a desire to show off Australian actor Chris Hemsworth's body in a drenched white shirt, the star of the Thor films has faced off with US talk show host Jimmy Fallon in a water war.

The 31-year-old actor, who was appearing on Fallon's New York-based Tonight Show to promote his new film Blackhat, was challenged by the host to a game of "Water War."
The rules of Water War, seemingly, involve dealing cards but the loser of each hand got to drench his opponent using a glass of water.
The loser of the game was then subjected to a barrage from a water cannon.
"We'll play the card game War, but if you lose the hand, you get a pint of water in the face," Fallon said.
"The first to throw five glasses of water on their opponent wins and gets to water cannon the loser."
Hemsworth lost the game and was, rather helpfully for his fans, wearing only a white shirt which, once soaked, left little to the imagination.
Despite that, Hemsworth then turned the water cannon on Fallon.
 
Melbourne-born Hemsworth is best known for playing Thor in the Marvel superhero franchises, including Thor (2011), The Avengers (2012), Thor: The Dark World (2013) and the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015).
He also starred in Star Trek (2009) and Snow White and the Huntsman (2012).
