The community groups and key projects to benefit include; Hear our Heart - Ear Bus project, Narromine Cancer Support Group- Care West Lodge; Trangie Cancer Support Group - Care West Lodge.
Southern Phone Chairman Bill Hilzinger and CEO Mark Warren presented the community grant cheque to Narromine Shire Mayor Bill McAnally on Wednesday who, in turn, passed cheques onto the groups involved.
Rachel Mills of the Hear our Heart - Ear Bus project said the contributions would help to put the bus on the road.
“It’s very important for us to pick up hearing problems young children may have,” Cr McAnally said.
Funding given to the Care West Lodge Narromine and Trangie Cancer Support Groups will work towards funding equipment and services for cancer patients and their families.
More than $1 million has been offered across 41 mostly regional council areas in NSW as part of a new Southern Phone Community Grant Scheme.
