Playmates Cottage says it has found a suitable site for the childcare centre to relocate to and it will make a new push for funding from the state government this week.
Playmates management committee chairman Jim Jane said on Sunday the committee had made a decision about a block that was in "close proximity" to Dubbo Hospital, where the childcare centre holds a lease until the end of 2016. Read more here.

Gina Rinehart sues Channel 9 over House of Hancock: John Hancock's list of disputed scenes:
Billionaire Gina Rinehart isn't the only member of the Hancock-Rinehart dynasty who says the TV mini-series House of Hancock was largely fictionalised.
John Hancock, 39, the eldest of Mrs Rinehart's four children, says the hit show falsified or invented a number of events in portraying the late Lang Hancock (played by Sam Neill), his wife Rose Lacson (Peta Sergeant) and Mrs Rinehart, his daughter (played by Mandy McElhinney). Read more here.
Ed Oxenbould, Melissa George land new US dramas:
Melissa George has landed a role in a new US medical drama, Heart Matters. The pilot will focus on a female heart transplant surgeon, played by George, who must balance her work and personal lives. The pilot script, for the US network NBC, was written by Jill Gordon and will be produced by Amy Brennerman and Kathy Magliato, the doctor on whose life the series is based. George is currently in NBC's remake of the Australian series The Slap. Read more here.

He is reportedly bankrupt and has has left a string of creditors more than $200,000 out-of-pocket – and could have his winnings from the show seized by authorities.
Fairfax Media has obtained documents showing Anderson – who is being chased by his ex-wife, Cindy, for unpaid child support of $36,000 – became bankrupt in February, 2014.
Two months later, auditions for My Kitchen Rules opened. Anderson and his new wife, Carol Molloy, were accepted, and are now competing for the grand prize of $250,000.

Binalong Road looked comfortable in taking out yesterday's Country Championships qualifier at Tyers Park as favourite, triumphing by four lengths in the $100,000 race.
Along with Binalong Road ($2.70), One Last Poet ($17) was the other horse to book a spot in the $300,000 Country Championships final at Royal Randwick on April 4 thanks to her second place finish. Read more here.

With their Waratah League campaign starting in less than a week, the Dubbo Rams gathered at the Castlereagh Hotel on Saturday night to officially launch the 2015 season.
The Castlereagh has officially come on board as major sponsors of basketball in Dubbo and a good crowd of players, officials and supporters got together for a final gathering before Tim Griffiths and his players hit the court for their first match against Lithgow Lazers at the Wool Shed this Saturday night. CRICKET:
The scene is set for a thrilling final round of the 2014-15 Whitney Cup season, with Macquarie's narrow win over Souths at No.2 Oval on Saturday setting up a winner-take-all battle between the Blues and Rugby for the third and final spot in the finals.
Macquarie overcame a pair of mini-collapses to take the vital victory, which became more important as Rugby fell to Newtown at No.1 Oval. Read more here.

NSW Aboriginal affairs minister Victor Dominello on Sunday announced $185,000 in funding for the development of an app to support the maintenance and revitalisation of five Aboriginal languages in NSW. Read more here.

Parkes MP Mark Coulton has reaffirmed the Nationals' ongoing support for Prime Minister Tony Abbott despite talk of a second leadership spill in the Liberal party.

Police to scour Bonny Hills bushland in search for missing William Tyrell:
Homicide squad detectives searching for missing three-year-old boy William Tyrell will begin scouring bushland on the NSW mid north coast on Monday, six months after the toddler mysteriously vanished from his grandmother's home.
Police said a tip-off had led them to an area of dense bushland at Bonny Hills, about 20 kilometres from the small town of Kendall where William disappeared from the back yard of his grandmother's home in September last year. Read more here.
Tony Abbott thrown lifeline in Fairfax-Ipsos poll:
Australian voters have thrown Tony Abbott a lifeline just as his internal opponents were shaping to dump him, with a Fairfax-Ipsos poll confirming a pro-government shift is under way.
In a result set to strengthen the Prime Minister's hand in the short term, the Abbott government has staged an unlikely recovery and, while still trailing, is now within striking distance of overhauling the ALP lead at 49-51. Read more here.

Poisoned chalice: woman hospitalised after drinking wine, ecstasy suspected:
She thought she was taking a sip of fine French wine, sharing a toast with family and friends. Little did the 23-year-old woman know her glass was filled with poison.
One mouthful and the 23-year-old knew something wasn’t right. The rancid bitterness convinced her the wine, brought by a friend to the Bowral home, was undrinkable. Read more here.
Mother asks suspected child-abusing teacher Chris Fotis to call home:
The mother of fugitive teacher Chris Fotis wants him to call home and assure her he is safe after his failure to appear before the royal commission into the responses to child abuse.
Police issued a warrant for the arrest of Mr Fotis, 52, after his failure to appear before the commission in Sydney on Tuesday to give evidence about his time teaching at Knox Grammar in the 1980s, when he was among teachers who are now suspected of child abuse. Read more here.
Which Australian town wants a place on the latest Monopoly board?
Monopoly is preparing to release a world edition of the popular board game.
Instead of streets, players will collect stamps in their passport for all of the places they visit, and Maitland has an opportunity to be one of them.

The Dubbo branch of the Country Women's Association (CWA) has listed its Wingewarra Street property on the market as it looks to position itself for the future.
The property that has served as a hub of community life for more than 50 years will go to auction on March 26 and is located within the commercial zone.
The CWA Dubbo branch will continue to operate with branch president Barbara Barrett telling of their plans to expand their support to community projects when freed from the upkeep of the property. Read more here.
Regional Development Australia (RDA) Orana is undertaking a major infrastructure study, which is expected to uncover the needs of the region's business and industry.
RDA has partnered with Orana Regional Organisation of Councils, NSW Department of Planning and Environment and NSW Department of Premier and Cabinet.
RDA Orana chief executive officer, Felicity Taylor-Edwards, has called on the region's businesses to take part in an online exercise, to literally map the infrastructure projects that would best benefit their industries. Read more here.
