The Bureau of Metrology has reported almost 60mm of rainfall from Monday morning to 2pm on Tuesday afternoon.
Weather inquiries officer, David Barlow, said these were reasonable downpours in the Central West.
"These are reasonable falls in an area that has been missing out on a bit of rain," he said.
Trangie recorded 43mm of rain from Monday morning until 9am on Tuesday morning.
This is in comparison to Nyngan which recorded 23mm and Dubbo which recorded 20mm.
Mr Barlow said there were also good falls in Coonamble and Coonabarabran recorded 27mm but once again Walgett and Brewarrina received very little.
Trangie recorded 15mm on Tuesday from 9am to 2pm.
Trangie also had its coldest day in April on record on Monday.
The town saw a maximum temperature of 12.2 degrees which is colder than the 13 degrees Trangie had on April 12, 1994 which was the previous record.
Trangie weather records go back 47 years.
Condobolin and Cobar also had their coldest days on record on Monday.
Nyngan's record breaking temperature was the largest in the area, according to Mr Barlow.
The 13.6 degrees experienced at Nyngan was two degrees cooler than the previous record of 15.6 degrees.
Nyngan has 84 years of weather recordings.
