Just one converted try to Forbes in the first half of colts but another soon after oranges: 0-14. Strath Munro took a great high ball and set off like a scorched pussy-cat (albeit a tall one), before off-loading to a well-positioned Tom Leary: try time. Another converted try to Forbes, before Troy Lindsay topped off a strong game (three best and fairest points) with a five-pointer, that was converted: 12-21.
Seconds were out-gunned 3-34. Keithy Maher was in the thick of things all game; Billy Ryback was never far from the ball; while Little Jay Walsh had some impressive runs.
In heavy rain, Firsts were up against it from the first minute, when their tight-head prop was presented with a red card.
Down a player, the boys rallied, with Henry Buttsworth taking a leaf out of the Craig Duff "How to Intercept" textbook, scoring a thrilling try (and converting it). Forbes grabbed the next three tries, winning 7-24. Mick Harris had a blinder; Buttsworth and Greg Wynn showed flair; while Ray Saunders (with some top tackling!), DJ Gordon and Ryan Wheeler were mentioned in despatches.
