In the largest Dawn Service turnout seen and a massive Anzac march the people of Trangie paid their respects and reflected on the courageous services of our men and women 100 years ago. A big breakfast was held at the Trangie RSL following the Dawn Service.
Last year Trangie Central School ran a touch football competition during their NAIDOC week celebrations.
With last year's NAIDOC theme "Remembering Indigenous Returned Service Men and Women", all proceeds raised from the competition were donated to this year's Anzac Day breakfast for the local veterans. The Trangie Magpies cooked the breakfast for all of those in attendance, in excess of 100 people.
It was a wonderful community event which would not have been possible without Kathy Gillespie, Ian Hilder and the RSL board members, the Trangie Central School's NAIDOC committee and the Trangie Magpies RLFC.The Magpies also volunteered to run two-up later in the afternoon which was a great way to end a day of reflection and commemoration.
