The Narromine Book Club invites everyone to celebrate the Reading Hour with them at their August meeting at Narromine Branch Library on Monday August 17 2015 from 5.30pm to 7pm.
Non-members attending are encouraged to bring along a favourite book to discuss with the group.
The Reading Hour raises the visibility of reading and literacy nationwide.
It also promotes the benefits of reading and storytelling as a catalyst for well-being.
Getting Started with Facebook
Trangie Branch Library is holding an internet session on using Facebook on Wednesday August 5 2015 from 2pm-3pm.
Book a private session for yourself or a group session with a couple of friends. Bookings are essential and can be made by phoning or visiting the Trangie Branch.
Amnesty on Overdue Books? August 1-30 2015
We're wiping the slate clean.
Return your overdue library items (books, DVDs, magazines etc) during the amnesty and we will wipe your fines. No questions asked.
With a clean library card you can download e-books from the library on your IPad, phone, computer or e-reader.
E-Books automatically return themselves so you won't need to worry about overdues.
2015 Rolf Boldrewood Literary Awards - Australian Prose and Poetry Writing Competition
These awards honour Rolf Boldrewood, the pen name of Thomas Browne, who during his time as a police magistrate in Dubbo wrote Robbery Under Arms, one of the first major novels.
The competition aims to foster the writing of prose and poetry with an Australian theme. Prizes in each section will be $500 and a limited edition bust of Rolf Boldrewood (value $100) and certificates of Highly Commended and Commended. Entries close on September 25 2015.

Library Hours
The Narromine Branch is open Monday to Friday from 10.30am to 5.30pm and on Saturday from 10am to noon.
The Trangie Branch is open Monday from 1pm to 5.30pm; Wednesday to Friday from 10.30am to 5.30pm and on Saturday from 10am to noon.
