Local Government Week August 3-9 2015 - Senior Citizens Mock Council Meeting and Morning Tea - Next week is Local Government Week and the shire's senior citizens have been invited to take on the role of councillors at a mock council meeting to be held in council's chambers on Friday August 7 2015, commencing at 10am. The mock council meeting will be followed by a morning tea. A fun morning is guaranteed, so please advise council on 6889 9999 if you would like to take part, or just come along for a great morning!

Local schools within the shire are participating in colouring in, essay writing competitions, and mock council meetings. A heavy machinery display has been organised for school children for Wednesday August 5 2015 from 11am till 1pm in the grounds of Narromine High School.
Council staff will be on hand to answer questions about the machinery. If you would like further information on Local Government Week, please contact council on 6889 9999.
The theme for Local Government Week 2015 is "Active All Areas" which reflects the need for councils to engage with various communities which may differ by age, culture and race. It also reflects the need for councils to ensure those communities have physical accessibility and support.
Notice of Public Exhibition - Planning Proposal 07/2014 - Lot 145 DP 755110, 130 Tomingley Cemetery Road, Tomingley - In accordance with section 57 of the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act 1979, Council advises that it has received a Planning Proposal to rezone Lot 145 DP 755110, 130 Tomingley Cemetery Road, Tomingley from RU1 Primary Production to R5 Large Lot Residential. The Planning Proposal is on public exhibition from July 27 2015 to August 24 2015.
During this time the proposal may be inspected at the Narromine Shire Council Office at 124 Dandaloo Street, Narromine during normal office hours or on council's website at www.narromine.nsw.gov.au.
Any interested person may make a written submission to Narromine Shire Council with respect to the proposal. Submissions must be received by 5pm, Monday August 24 2015. If the submission is in the form of an objection, reasons for the objection are to be included in the submission.
Council advises that unless requested otherwise, any submissions received will be considered public documents and made available for public viewing if required.

Land Classification - Council at its Ordinary Meeting held on November 12 resolved to acquire Lot 2 DP 1050443 for the essential public purpose of town drainage and classify the land as operational land.
In accordance with Section 34 (1-3) of the Local Government Act 1993, council is required to give public notice of the proposed resolution to classify the land as operational land.
Council at its August council meeting intends to resolve to classify Lot 2 in DP 1050443 as Operational Land.
Any written submissions on the proposed classification of the land should be addressed to the General Manager, PO Box 115, Narromine, NSW, 2821 by August 10 2015.
